Miscellaneous Laboratory Equipment And Articles





Here is the list of other laboratory equipments and articles:

1) Bedpan Brush – This is used for cleaning bedpans and should be cleaned by washing soap and water, then hang dry.
2) Bottle Brush – This is a type of brush used for cleaning tall slender bottles, e.g. feeding bottles.  The method of cleaning is washing with soap and water, then hand dry.
3) IV Stand – This is a slim metal pab used for hanging IVFs; blood transfusion, enema cans, etc.
4) Arm Splint – This is used to immobilize the arms where IVF is inserted.
5) IV Infusion Set – This is a plastic tube that is used to convey IVFs or fluids to the patient through vein. (Macro-drip – in drops, Micro-drip – in micro-drip, Venoset, Saftiset).
6) Butterfly needle – This is a type of needle connected to the IV infusion set to convey fluid from tube to the patient.  This comes in different sizes, measured by gauge.
7) Stretcher – This is a narrow high bed with wheeled legs which is used to transport patients from one place to another in the hospital.
8) Wheel Chair – This is a chair provided with big wheels, also used for transferring patients.
9) Stethoscope – This is an instrument that is used to listen to body sounds--- e.g. breath sound, bowel sound.
10)  Sphygmomanometer – This is an instrument that is used to determine the blood pressure.  The types of sphygmomanometer are:
a.       Mercurial
b.      Aneroid
c.       OR
11) Medicine Tray – This is used to carry medicine glasses with medicines when administering drugs.
12) Pick up Tray – This is used for picking up, transferring sterile objects
a.       Peritoneal
b.      Kelly
c.       Thumb
d.      Tissue
13) Nozzle Tip – This is a small tube with rounded tip connected to a rubber connect when doing vaginal or rectal irrigation.  The types of Nozzle Tips are:
a.       Vaginal
b.      Rectal
14) Floor Lamp – This is a lamp with stand and pliable neck which is used to provide additional light during the procedures.
15) Flash Light – This is used to provide need light
16) Over Ben Table – This is a table in the patient’s room so made that top can be positioned over patient’s bed and can be used when eating or attending to grooming in bed.
17) Chest Drainage System.  This is used to irrigate fluid.
